In Spring 2015, Shodor and NCSA will host the second year of the Blue Waters Student Internship Program. As part of this program, undergraduate and graduate students will learn the effective application of Blue Waters for problems in science, mathematics, and engineering and use their skills and knowledge in one-year research projects in petascale computing, matched with faculty mentors at accredited, degree-granting institutions. This proposal details the requirements for access to Blue Waters for the program administrators at Shodor during the year-long program. This is a year-long request for full support and mentoring for the Shodor staff to provide to all of the selected interns. The interns and their mentors will submit separate allocation proposals for their one-year projects once we accept them to the program.
