We will time and optimize the adaptive mesh refinement code FLASH for use in performing large-scale (magneto)hydrodynamic simulations of the evolution of galaxy clusters. Our planned simulations focus on the impact that active galactic nuclei (AGN) have on the internal structure and observable properties of clusters. These simulations will address the question of how AGN feedback helps to regulate radiative cooling in cluster cores and what effect this feedback has on cluster mass-observable relationships. The results will be important both for the understanding of clusters as astrophysical objects and for their use as cosmological probes..
