CADENS (Centrality of Advanced Digitally-Enabled Science) is an NSF project to leverage and expand visualizations of computational science for distribution to the scientific stakeholders, broad public, and educational community. The purpose of this Illinois Blue Waters (I-BW) allocation request is to render visualizations of massive Blue Waters (BW) scientific data for inclusion in CADENS science outreach. The process involves designing and rendering high-resolution, multi-format visualizations, including 4K full-dome formats for large-scale museums and high-definition TV. The challenge is to efficiently manage, visualize, and render the large time-evolving data in high-resolution and multiple formats at production quality for wide distribution. We request BW allocation for these renders of BW simulations because the data is too massive to move. Scientific visualization of BW science for public outreach at this production scale has never been attempted. We will freely distribute the resulting visualizations and provide an international resource for research and education.
