Usage Details

As part of the Blue Waters internship program the student will learn how to scale up a C program to take advantage of the parallel computing environment offered by the Blue Waters system. The computational model numerically simulates the trajectory of sediment on the bottom of a water source, such as a river. After proper scaling and performance analysis the student will then work on producing scientific visualizations to show how the particles move in a flowing body of water.
