Usage Details

Paul Rulis, William Leverette

This education project is a part of the Blue Waters Student Internship Program. The student intern, William Leverette, is an undergraduate student at the University of Missouri Kansas City who has been performing undergraduate research for Paul Rulis for the past year. This project is centered on optimizing and determining the scaling limits of the recently parallelized local-orbital based electronic structure OLCAO code. Therefore, the field of study is condensed matter materials theory. The intern has been tasked with instrumenting a set of performance profiling tools into the parallelized OLCAO (pOLCAO) code to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for enhancing the parallel performance and determining the range of effective scalability for different types of calculations.
