Usage Details
Paul Ricker, Yinghe LuWe request Blue Waters access to perform AMR hydrodynamics simulations of the intracluster medium (ICM) in the cores of galaxy clusters. Our planned simulations focus on the impact that active galactic nuclei (AGN) have on the internal structure and observable properties of cluster cores. These simulations will address the question of how AGN feedback helps to regulate radiative cooling in cluster cores and the interplay of feedback effect with other physical processes involved in the ICM. The results will be important both for the understanding of cluster cores and for further application of the code to large-scale cosmological simulations.
